"CLIFFORD BROWN – MAX ROACH &
SARAH VAUGHAN"

featuring Sharlotte Gibson
& musical director Gerrit Kinkel

An evening devoted to two extraordinary album recordings from
the golden age of jazz, performed live in their entirety:
Clifford Brown - Max Roach and Sarah Vaughan.

From the fire, precision and swing of one of the hard bop's defining small ensembles to the elegance and intimacy of Sarah Vaughan's legendary vocal collaboration with Clifford Brown, the program captures two very different sides of 1950s jazz.

These remarkable arrangements, solos and songs brought to life by a seven-piece ensemble – trumpet/musical director, saxophone, alto flute, piano, upright bass, drums and vocalist.
